5.83 kW Grid-Tied System
We installed solar about six months ago after experiencing higher electric bills while using less power from the grid. We purchased a Grape Solar system from Costco (22 panels with SolarEdge inverter) and had Karin from CleanTech Energy pull permits and install (less than 2 months from first call to SDG&E connection). Combining the Costco 2% cashback, Costco Visa 2% cashback, and the Federal 30% tax credit, I expect the system to pay for itself in 2 1/2 years. Our last SDG&E bills have been -$8 and -$12 on average compared to our traditional $300+ bill. The extra credits can be rolled over to offset gas bills. Two best investments I have ever made: getting a solar system and fake grass for yard. . —Joe
