  • Grid-Tied
    The most common type of residential solar kit.
    • Most effective at reducing a power bill
    • Eligible for incentives and tax rebates
    • Sells excess energy back to the grid
    • Does not need batteries
    • Does not function when the grid is down

  • Off-Grid
    Commonly used in RVs, boats and cabins.
    • Generates power without the grid
    • Easily self installed
    • Cannot sell energy back to the utility
    • Requires expensive batteries
  • Grid-Interactive
    Excellent for powering critical loads during emergencies.
    • Costs about twice as much as grid-tied systems
    • Generates power without the grid
    • Sells excess energy back to the utility
    • Eligible for incentives and tax rebates

  • System Size

    The number of panels in a system is usually limited by: Budget, Space and Production goals. To help us determine the best system size for your project, please fill out at least one of the fields below:
    • You can usually find records of past electricity consumption on your utility bill. See the sample bill on this page for an example of where to find it. If your bill does not display annual total consumption, you can manually calculate this by adding up your past 12 months' consumption data.
    • We are not able to provide installer referrals at this time, but we still have various solar panels for immediate shipment.

    • *Knowing the square footage of your home will not help us in determining system size because electrical consumption habits vary and are not proportional to square footage.

      *Knowing the dollar amount of your monthly bill will not help us determine system size because rates vary and tiers make it nearly impossible to derive your kWh consumption.

    • *Grape Solar recommends using deep-cycle sealed AGM batteries. Due to the high price of shipping batteries, Grape Solar does not sell them but can recommend a local dealer.

  • Mounting Hardware

    Grape Solar can supply or suggest mounting hardware for your panels. If you would like mounting hardware please select which type best suits your project:
